The 2025 Australian Nationals Championship wrapped up today at St Kilda Townhall, featuring 12 participants vying for the ultimate title. Our Australian Othello Icon, Matthew Vinar , delivered an impressive performance, defeating first-time finalist Rianah McInnes in the final, and winning his 14th Australian National title, well done Matt!

Despite the defeat, we’d believe Rianah McInneshas the potential to return even stronger in the future and claim the championship in the near future. Ivan Chan secured the second runner-up position for the third consecutive year, thanks to his three wins based on the MBQ tie-break scores.
